Galloway Diocese - Preparing for the Year of Faith 2012 - 2013
- Categorized in: Adult Formation, Events
Pope Benedict XVI in his Apostolic Letter “Porta Fidei” has announced a “Year of Faith” to take place from 11 October 2012 to 24 November 2013. He specifically asks that the Catechism of the Catholic Church be seen as an important instrument for this year, and that it be used as a tool for deepening and increasing our knowledge of the faith. Responding to the call of Pope Benedict, the adult faith formation programme in Galloway Diocese will use the four sections of the Catechism to provide four opportunities to reflect more deeply on what the Catechism offers us in the fields of faith and evangelization. There will be four different venues throughout the diocese, and four different presenters will lead the different topics. It is hoped that by using the Catechism to prepare for the Year of Faith, then we will be able to celebrate this year with renewed understanding, and greater enthusiasm, for the great gift of our faith.
